Mari Amimoto

II was born with a disability in my right ankle. I had surgery when I was 10 months old. Despite my disability, I started gymnastics when I was about two years old and began playing minibus in the third grade of elementary school. 16 years old, I became a member of the Japanese national team, and at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, I became the team's youngest scorer at the games. Also won a prize.

I have also played in Australia, Germany and Spain.

生まれつき右足首に障がいがある。生後10か月の時手術をする。障がいがありながら2歳ごろから器械体操を始め、小学3年生の頃からミニバスを始めた。中学2年生の時に手術をしてバスケができなくなり、車いすバスケを始める。16歳の頃から日本代表、2008年の北京パラリンピックでチーム最年少大会得点王になり、4位という結果を残す。2020東京パラリンピック共同キャプテンとして6位入賞。オーストラリア、ドイツ、スペインでもプレー経験がある。

10月  アジアパラ競技大会

11月   世界選手権

Current Activities

In May, the Asia Oceania Games will be held in preparation for the World Championships.

In June, the women's tournament will be held for the first time in about three years.

In August, the Empress Cup will be held.

In October, the Asian Para Games.

In November, the World Championships will be held.

生まれつき右足首に障害があるけれど、2歳〜10歳まで器械体操、9歳からバスケットボール、15歳からは車いすバスケットボールをやっている。

普段競技をしている時、応援して、支えてくれているみなさんのパワーを受けています。車いすバスケの競技を通して、みんなでシュートに向かっていくこと、チームとして助け合う、支え合っていることを私自身が伝え、皆さんを支えられるようになっていきたいです。

A word as an Ambassador

I am usually empowered by everyone who cheers and supports me when I am competing. Through the competition of wheelchair basketball, I would like to convey the message that we all work together to shoot the ball, help each other as a team, and support each other, so that I myself can support you all.
